Zookeepers at ZSL London Zoo have their fingers full within the penguin nursery this month – feeding and caring for 5 hungry Humboldt penguin chicks, after their mother and father have been unable to take care of them.
The fluffy fivesome – who all hatched on the conservation zoo between Saturday 14 and Sunday 24 April – have spent 4 weeks cosying as much as a cuddly toy penguin below the warming glow of a warmth lamp, with devoted keepers trying after them in shifts.
